However, ordering a custom cake can sometimes be an intimidating task, especially when faced with the plethora of choices involved. Below I will guide you through the process of ordering a custom cake while demystifying the terminology and shedding light on the importance of understanding your needs.

Step 1
​
Fill out Reservation Form Request & secure availability with reservation fee and signature of contract. A $300 non refundable reservation fee is required to hold any date. Reservation fee is applied to final balance due 4 weeks prior to event date.

Let's chat (772) 258-2579! We will be in touch via phone or email to go over details of your cake/dessert bar & get help with all the details! We will help with deciding your cake design, structure, florals & picking out delicious flavor combinations! Looking to taste some cake options?? We don't blame you! We have you covered with 2 options: FIRST OPTION: $45 Tasting box pick up/delivery.
SECOND OPTION: $65 Private Design Consult with tasting.
Some Couples do not choose either but the choice is yours! We offer 4 to 5 tasting events throughout the year for all our booked Clients to enjoy!

Helpful information when it comes to ordering:
​
1.) Clear Vision: Before reaching out to order, it's essential to have a clear vision of what you want your custom cake to look like. Consider the theme, colors, design elements, and any personal touches you would like to incorporate. Gathering inspiration from photos or sketches can help communicate your vision effectively to us. We can definitely help with design if you are just not quite sure!​

2.) Size Matters: When it comes to ordering a custom cake, understanding serving needs is key. Instead of saying, "I need a 2-tier cake for 100 people," focus on communicating the number of servings required. Cake tiers are determined by the servings, not vice versa. Let us know about the estimated number of guests and we will suggest cake sizes to accommodate your needs.

3.) Cake Terminology: To ensure effective communication with us, familiarize yourself with the common terminology used in the cake industry. Here are a few key terms to get you started:
a. TIER: A tier refers to a horizontal layer of cake. Cakes can have multiple tiers stacked on top of each other. Each tier can vary in size and can be made up of one or more layers of cake.
b. LAYER: A layer refers to how many inches of cake is IN each tier. Our layers are “torted”. Torting simply means cutting each layer in half and adding a filling. This causes the tier to appear that the tier has four layers instead of two. Each tier of cake has 4 layers of cake & 3 layers of filling.

4.) Give Us A Call: Once you have a clear vision and an understanding of the terminology, don't hesitate to call us with any questions. We can share ideas, talk about flavors & venue, discuss any dietary restrictions or preferences & make sure we are a good fit. We will guide you through the design process, offer suggestions, and help determine the appropriate size and shape for your cake.

5.) Budget Considerations: Custom cakes vary in price based on factors like design complexity, size, quality ingredients used & our exceptional 20+ year experienced skill set in many mediums including fondant, sugar paste & wafer paper. Communicate your budget with us in all honesty so we can find the best option that fits your vision!​​

6.) Reserve Date: After discussing all the details with us you can reserve your date with a NON REFUNDABLE reservation fee. We will email a contract for you to review and sign confirming details we discussed in our meeting. All final details, payments are then due 4 weeks prior to your event date however we typically finalize all details at your private tasting/consult. Double-check all the specifications, including the design, flavors, sizes, and delivery/pickup arrangements are included in your receipt/contract. We do not offer refunds.

7.) Tasting Box/Tasting Consultation: We have about 5 tasting a year and that number is growing as we become busier with each passing year! We offer both private consultations with us for those who need help finalizing design, flavors, etc. or Tasting box pickup/delivery for those who do not need help with cake design, etc. and would like to try some flavors together in the privacy of their own home. All cake flavors for tastings are predetermined by Pretty And Sweet Cakes.
